I'm looking to upgrade my circular saw and I'm torn between DeWalt and Makita. I've always used DeWalt, but my buddy swears by Makita. Which one gives better cuts and durability? I do mostly framing and some finish work.

I've used both professionally. For a circular saw, I'd go with Makita. Their motors are smoother and last longer. I've had my Makita 5007MG for years and it still cuts like new. DeWalt is solid too but I prefer Makita's balance.

I'm on a budget so I went with the DeWalt DWE575. It's light and decent for the price. If you can catch a sale, it's a great deal. But if you have the cash, Makita's build quality might be worth it.

I've run a crew for 20 years. We use both, honestly. For heavy daily use, Makita holds up better. But DeWallt's customer service and warranty are easier to deal with. Test both in your hand - ergonomics matter a lot.
