Hey everyone, just a quick PSA. Had a close call today while cutting some tile with my wet saw. A tiny shard flew off and hit my safety glasses. Scared the heck out of me but the glasses saved my eye! Always wear your PPE, no matter how quick the cut is.

Rick, glad you're okay! I can't stress enough how important proper PPE is. I see too many DIYers skipping eye pro or using old, scratched glasses. Makes 'em less effective. Also, make sure your glasses are rated ANSI Z87.1. Cheap ones might not cut it.

Oh man, that's scary! I always wear glasses but sometimes I forget ear plugs when using the circular saw. My ears are still ringing from last weekend. Safety first, I guess! Got any recommendations for good ear muffs?

For ear muffs, I use the 3M Peltor X5A. They're bulky but really block out noise. Also, if you're wearing glasses, make sure your muffs don't break the seal. I had that problem with cheaper ones.

Good point, Rick. And if you wear prescription glasses like me, you can get over-the-glass (OTG) ear muffs. Or just get some decent safety glasses that fit under regular muffs. Whatever works, just protect your hearing!
