Found a Ridgid Oscillating Multi-Tool on Craigslist for $30 - Worth It?

So I'm browsing Craigslist and this guy is selling a Ridgid JobMax oscillating multi-tool with a bunch of attachments for $30. It's used but looks in good shape from the pics. I've been wanting one for small trim work and cutting door jambs for flooring. I know Ridgid is a decent brand, but I've never used their multi-tool. Should I snag it or wait for a sale on a new one? Any experience with this tool?

For $30, I'd say grab it. Even if you end up not liking it, you can almost certainly resell it for that. I've got the Ridgid JobMax, and it's a workhorse. The quick-change accessory system is nice, and it's got enough power for most tasks. My only complaint is it's a bit bulky for tight spots, but for that price, you can't beat it. Just make sure it runs smooth and check the collet for any wobble.

I've used that model on a few jobs. It's solid for DIY and even light pro work. The attachments can be pricey, but if he's throwing in a set, that's a steal. I'd test it first—plug it in, run it at different speeds, listen for any grinding. Also check for excessive vibration. If it feels good, take it. If not, pass. But at $30, I'd probably take a gamble even if it's a bit rough.
