Hey guys, was browsing the clearance section at Home Depot and saw a Festool TS 55 REQ for $350! Says it's a floor model but looks barely used. I'm a plumber, so not my usual kit, but I've been thinking about getting into some cabinet work. Is this a steal or a trap?

$350 for a Festool track saw?? That's insane! I've been looking at the cordless Makita for $450. If it's legit, grab it! Even if you don't use it much, you could resell it for double. Check the blade for chips and make sure the plunge mechanism is smooth.

I'd be careful with floor models – people abuse them. Test the saw on a scrap piece for squareness. If it's the TS 55 REQ, it's the older model but still a beast. For $350, if everything checks out, it's a no-brainer. But factor in a new blade (~$50) if it's dull.

Good call on the blade, Chris. I gave it a once-over and the blade looks okay, not perfect. Plunge is buttery smooth. I'm gonna pull the trigger. Thanks for the advice, fellas! Will let you know how it cuts.
