Just saw this article about Williams-Sonoma getting a $185 price target from UBS. Seems like a lot of money for cookie sheets and overpriced spatulas, but hey, maybe they're cooking up something big. What do you all think? Is this relevant to our DIY world or just more Wall Street noise?

I mean, I've used their stuff for woodworking projects, but I usually wait for a sale. $185 target? That's a lot of clamps and saw blades. Probably market speculation, but if they're coming out with some new high-end kitchen tools, maybe I'll build a custom spice rack to go with it.

Ha! Spice rack? I'd rather spend that on a new router. But seriously, UBS giving a price target is just the stock price, not their tools. I bought some of their stock years ago, but I'm more interested in my own returns on a DIY level - like a solid workbench.

Retired carpenter here. I've used their cabinets in a few high-end kitchens. The stock target doesn't change the quality of their lumber. But if they're doing well, maybe they'll invest in better hardware. I've got a tip: if you're buying their tools, wait for the off-season when they discount. And if you're investing, do your own homework, not just from UBS.
