Hey all! Quick question - do you guys wear gloves when using wrenches? I just started working on my car and I keep smashing my knuckles on stuff. Should I get some cut-resistant ones or is that overkill?

Not overkill at all! I usally wear mechanics gloves when I'm wrenching - saves your hands from cuts and grease. Plus they help with grip on oily bolts. Just make sure they fit tight so you don't lose dexterity.

Gloves are great but be carefull with rotating tools - they can grab. For hand tools only, go for it. Also consider safety glasses, a pipe wrench can slip and smack you in the face. Ask me how I know 😅

I have a collection of gloves for different jobs. For wrenches I like the mechanix wear - they have a good balance of protection and feel. But tbh I still get nicks sometimes when I'm not paying attention. Gloves + googles = happy DIYer.
