Hey all, my DeWalt 20V impact wrench just stopped charging. The battery is fine in my other tools, but the charger says it's dead. I've cleaned the contacts and tried a different outlet. Any thoughts?

Could be the charger itself. I've had chargers die on me before. But also check the tool's battery terminal – sometimes they get bent or dirty. Also, make sure the battery is fully seated. If that doesn't work, try a different battery if you have one. If it charges, then it's the battery. If not, it's likely the charger.

I've seen this a lot on job sites. The charging contacts on the tool can get gunked up with grease and dust. Try wiping the contacts on both the battery and the tool with a clean cloth and some electrical contact cleaner. Also, check the tool's battery slot for any debris or damage.

My two cents: sometimes the charger has a thermal cutoff. Let it cool down for a bit. Also, try a different battery if you have one. If the charger still says dead, it's likely the charger's circuit board. I've had one that needed a new fuse – check for a blown fuse if you're handy.

I'm new to this, but I had a similar issue with my drill. Turned out the charger had a bad connection internally. I just jiggled the cord and it worked. But you might want to look at the manual for reset procedures. Some chargers have a reset button.
