Hey guys! I'm looking to buy a new cordless impact wrench for some heavy duty auto work and maybe some deck building. I'm torn between the DeWalt DCF899 and the Makita XWT08Z. I've heard good things about both, but I want real user experience. Any advice?

I've used both. The Makita has a bit more torque and feels more compact in hand. The DeWalt is slightly lighter though. Both are beasts. I'd say if you're mostly doing auto stuff, go Makita. For construction, either works. But I'm a Makita guy myself lol.

DeWalt all the way! Their brushless motors are bulletproof. I've been using the DCF899 for 2 years now, dropped it off a ladder twice, still works like new. Makita is good but their batteries are overpriced. Stick with yellow buddy!

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning a bit towards DeWalt now cause I already have a few DeWalt tools. But I hear Makita's new XWT08Z has that auto-stop feature which sounds nice for not snapping bolts. Anyone tried that?

Yeah the auto-stop is legit. Saved my ass on some rusty suspension bolts. I'd say try both in store if you can. But honestly you can't go wrong, just pick your color and don't look back lol.
