Just saw this article. I remember when Harleys came with those little tool rolls. But nowadays? I doubt it. Most modern bikes rely on roadside assistance. For the price they charge, you'd think they'd include a decent kit though.

I own a '19 Road Glide. Came with a tiny kit under the seat – honestly laughable. A few allen keys and a crappy screwdriver. I ended up building my own kit with quality tools. If you're riding a Harley, you better be prepared to fix something on the side of the road.

I collect old tool kits and Harleys from the 70s had proper kits with wrenches, pliers, even a spark plug socket. New ones are just token gestures. I'd say buy a good set of wrenches and throw 'em in a bag. Better than relying on the factory junk.

Totally agree. I always tell my customers: 'Your bike is only as good as your tool kit.' Funny how the article mentions the history but doesn't admit that modern kits are basically useless.

Lol Rick, preach! I've seen guys try to adjust their chains with those plastic-handled things from the kit... not pretty. A good set of combination wrenches and a torque wrench is mandatory if you ride an older model. #DIY
