Harley Tool Kits - Do They Still Include One?

Just saw this article about Harley-Davidson tool kits. I remember my old man's bike had a nice little pouch with wrenches and stuff. Are they still doing that or is it all digital now? Seems like a money grab if you ask me. What do you all think?

Back in my day, you had a full set of tools to fix just about anything on the side of the road. Now I bet they expect you to call a tow truck. But honestly, with modern bikes being all computerized, a basic kit might not do much. Still, it's a nice touch to have for simple stuff like mirrors or whatever.

I think it's a shame they're dropping the tool kits. Even if you don't need them often, it's about the peace of mind. I always carry a small kit on my bike even if the manufacturer doesn't provide one. You never know when a bolt will rattle loose. And let's be real, those OEM wrenches are usually pretty cheap anyway.

Good point Dan, but what do you carry for a Harley? I've got a metric set but those old Harleys use SAE. I'd love to know what you've got in your kit.

Dave, get yourself a good set of combination wrenches in both metric and SAE. And a multi-tool with a few Allen keys. That'll cover most roadside stuff. And don't forget a spark plug socket if you're feeling ambitious. But honestly, the best tool is a cell phone and a roadside assistance plan nowadays. Ha!
