Scored a 10-piece wrench set for $20 at Harbor Freight – worth it or junk?

So I was at HF today picking up some zip ties and saw this 10-piece combination wrench set (8mm-19mm) on clearance for $20. Got curious and grabbed it. Haven't used them yet. Are these decent for occasional DIY or did I just waste a dub? Need to know before I take the tags off. Also, anyone else score any good deals lately?

Harbor Freight wrenches? Man, you get what you pay for. I've had my Craftsman set for 15 years and never had one round a bolt. Those cheap ones might strip if you look at them wrong. Return it and save up for a real set. Just my 2 cents.

Honestly, for $20 you can't go wrong. I keep a cheap set in my truck for junkyard runs and they've held up fine for light stuff. Just don't use them on rusted suspension bolts. For furniture assembly and basic home repair, they'll do the job. If you're doing woodworking, you'll mostly use them for adjusting jigs and stuff.

I collect old wrenches – have everything from vintage Snap-on to no-name Taiwanese stuff. The HF ones are hit or miss. If they're the Pittsburgh line, they're actually not bad for the price. Check the chrome – if it's flaking, return them. But for 20 bucks, I'd say keep 'em. You can always grind them down for specialty tools later. Welcome to the addiction, btw.
