Hey guys, I found a used Snap-on wrench set (metric, 8-19mm) at a pawn shop for $150. They look barely used. Is this a steal or should I be suspicious? I'm just starting out my tool collection.

Honestly, $150 is a great price for Snap-on even used, but you gotta check for fakes. The pawn shop might not know what they have. Make sure the part numbers are legible and the finish is consistent. Also, test them on a bolt if they let you. If they're real, snag 'em quick!

Snap-on is overrated man. For $150 you could get a whole set of GearWrench or even Tekton that's brand new and lifetime warranty. Snap-on's truck warranty is a hassle if you don't have a dealer nearby. I'd pass and buy new.

Thanks for the input! I checked the numbers and they seem legit. Mike, I get what you're saying, but I love the feel of Snap-on. The pawn guy let me try one and it was super smooth. I think I'll go for it. My first pro-grade wrenches!

Congrats Sarah! Just remember to register them on Snap-on's site if you can. And don't lend them to anyone haha. You'll have those for life.
