Milwaukee vs DeWalt impact wrenches - which one actually holds up on job sites?

Hey all, been looking at upgrading my impact wrench setup. Currently running an older DeWalt 20V but my buddy swears by his Milwaukee Fuel. We're talking daily use in my welding shop - breaking rusty bolts, assembling steel frames, the usual. Need something that won't quit when I'm torquing down heavy fab work. Anyone have real-world experience with both brands? Not interested in spec sheets - tell me what actually survives when you're covered in metal shavings and grinding dust.

Ooh following this! I do mostly drywall and light framing, so maybe different needs? My DeWalt drill/driver set has been great for 2 years, but I borrowed my brother's Milwaukee impact last month when my deck screws kept stripping... wow that thing had power! But it felt heavier? And $$. For us weekend warriors, is the Milwaukee overkill? Greg66 - does the extra weight matter for all-day use?

Restoration guy here - I beat the hell out of tools daily. Milwaukee Fuel 1/2" impact is my go-to for suspension work on classic cars. That thing laughs at 40-year-old frozen lug nuts. DeWalt's good too, but their chucks wear faster in my experience. Pro tip: check the brushless models from both - less sparking around fuel lines (safety first!). Milwaukee's service centers are better if you need repairs under warranty.

Landscape perspective: Both brands survive my muddy, wet conditions fine. DeWalt's battery ecosystem works with my other tools (sawzall, blower) so I stick with them. Milwaukee might have slightly more torque, but when you're assembling retaining walls all day, ergonomics matter more. That DeWalt handle shape saves my wrists. Greg66 - if you're already in one battery system, switching gets expensive fast!
