Tool kits on new Harleys? I'd rather have a decent wrench set.

Just read that article. It's crazy that they don't all come with a kit anymore. I get that they're saving weight or whatever, but a few basic wrenches and a screwdriver are a must for roadside stuff. My old Dyna had a decent little kit. What's the point of a bike you can't fix with basic tools?

Honestly, I never even used the stock kit on my Sportster. It was mostly junk anyways - those tiny combo wrenches and a screwdriver that stripped after one use. I just carry a small pouch with my own tools now. So no big loss IMO.

Yeah I'd rather they drop the cheap tool kit and lower the price. Then we can all buy our own quality tools. I've got a full set of Craftsman wrenches in my saddlebag anyway. The ones that come with the bike are a joke.

True that, the stock tools aren't great. But it's the principle! It's like getting a new car without a spare tire. Just feels wrong. At least give us a nice pouch or something. I bet the dealers are happy to sell you a 'Harley' branded tool roll for $80 now.

Ha! Probably. I'd rather spend that $80 on a decent set of gear wrenches from Harbor Freight. That's what I did. No regerts. *laughs*
