Hey guys, quick safety tip for newbies. When using a torque wrench, especially a beam type, watch your fingers near the scale. I almost lost a tip the other day. Also, do yall wear mechanics gloves when tightening? I feel like I lose feel.

I use puncture-resistant gloves, not the thick winter ones. Like those Mechanix wear or similar. You can still feel the click. And yeah, beam wrenches are finger pinchers if you're not careful.

I always wear nitrile under my work gloves. Sweaty hands are a slip hazard. And for torque wrenches, go digital if you can. The feedback is better. But if you must use beam, keep your digits clear.

I don't wear gloves with torque wrenches cause I need the tactile feedback. But I do use a cheater bar carefully. And I calibrate mine every year. Overlooked but important for safety and accuracy.
